About Chris Brown Design
Director - Architectural Designer
After graduating 1993 with a NZ Certificate in Architectural Draughting, Chris Brown returned to Tauranga where he gained invaluable experience as an architectural draughtsman for a local design company. Wishing to expand his repertoire further he travelled to Canada and England. Here he was immersed in a wealth of design diversity, and extended his skills in the building trade by working on the practical side of the business as a carpenter/builder. This experience has subsequently given Chris an in depth and invaluable understanding of all aspects of the construction process.
Returning to NZ in 2002 Chris initially worked as Senior Architectural Technician for Shanahan Architects in Auckland, where the remit of the design process varied once more. In 2006 he moved back to Tauranga to take a senior position at Davista Design; this ultimately led to the decision in 2010 to start his own practice.
