Barkes Corner Veterinary Hospital
The Barkes Corner Veterinary Hospital project called for a design that effectively doubled the size of the existing clinic.
This project was a challenge as the Vet Clinic continued to operate throughout the alterations and additions.
Downstairs, two new surgeries were added, along with an X-Ray room and large “cage room”. Upstairs, the size of the waiting/reception was increased and added more office space plus a conference/meeting room.
The Geotechnical Report showed that the ground conditions for the additions were poor, so the foundation design included a 3.5m deep bored concrete piles with an engineer designed raft style foundation system to provide a suitable solution.
